Crosstown Ride 2024

On Phoenix Day, October 20, ride and roll across San Francisco on a fun and accessible ride from Ferry Plaza to the Beach with friends, families, and community! From 10am to 3pm, we’ll stop at block parties, enjoy art and music, and have special prizes and giveaways. Presented in partnership with Livable City and Spokes & Folks.

Check Out the Route

We’ve put together a Google Map for all the stops along the way for this fun, slow all-ages ride designed to be accessible for everyone 8 to 80. There are three legs, with stretching and socializing one stop at SFBike Office (1720 Market) and a second stop at Page and Stanyan, so join us for whichever leg you’d like or enjoy the whole ride!

We’ll start at the Embarcadero Ferry Terminal, move along car-free Market Street and wind through easy and safe bicycle and pedestrian spaces to car-free JFK Promenade, through the park, and end at the Ocean Beach Park for a fun final hurrah along our beautiful coastline.

Prizes and Surprises

As we stop along the way, we’ll have impromptu giveaways of 50 hand screen-printed Christine Innes art maps, with bicycle resources for the newbie and oldie alike, exclusive to participants on the ride. We’ll also have a few annual memberships to Bay Wheels to give away, eligible for anyone who registers and checks in at the start of the ride. Keep checking back for more fun surprises!

Event Partners

Livable City works to create a San Francisco of great streets and complete neighborhoods, where walking, bicycling, and transit are the best choices for most trips, where public spaces are beautiful, well-designed, and well-maintained, and where housing is more plentiful and more affordable.

Sunday Streets is San Francisco’s open streets program with an annual season of events that reclaim car-congested streets for community health, transforming them into car-free spaces for all to enjoy. Sunday Streets is a program of the nonprofit Livable City presented in partnership with the SFMTA, San Francisco Department of Public Health, and the City and County of San Francisco.

Spokes & Folks is a little web-based show (formerly known as Comedians on Bicycles) where we ride around on spokes, talk to some folks, occasionally tell some jokes, and show how a more joyful world is possible on two wheels.

For over 50 years, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has been transforming San Francisco streets and neighborhoods into more livable and safe places by promoting the bicycle for everyday transportation. Through day-to-day advocacy, education and working partnerships with City and community agencies, the SF Bicycle Coalition creates safer streets and more livable communities for all San Franciscans.
