Celebrate Market Street becoming car-free on January 29!
The unanimous approval of Better Market Street will bring a complete overhaul to our city’s busiest downtown corridor, but we don’t have to wait years for those changes to take shape. The SF Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is quickly moving ahead with a set of improvements to make your biking, walking and transit experience better right away, starting with a ban on all private vehicles beginning on January 29. That’s something to celebrate! Join us for all or part of the day’s festivities:
Wednesday, January 29:
11:00am – 12:30pm (estimated): Press Conference and Bike Ride
A press Conference with Mayor London Breed will take place at Embarcadero Plaza starting at 11:00 am. Immediately following the press conference, we’ll jump on our bikes and pedal from Embarcadero Plaza to Van Ness Ave.
5:00pm – 6:00pm Happy Hour at Hazel
Raise a glass to Better Market Street with SF Bicycle Coalition Advocacy Director Janice Li at Hazel (1446 Market Street) at 5:00pm.
