Smart City Cycling 3 — Road Practice

Sunday, October 27 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

In this class, we’ll go on a guided group ride to practice street-riding skills on increasingly high-volume streets. This class is the third in the Smart City Cycling sequence, and Smart City Cycling 2: Maneuvering is a prerequisite.

Topics covered include:

  • Taking the lane
  • Changing lanes
  • Left turns
  • Lane positioning and signaling
  • Riding in a group

All participants MUST either bring a bike or rent a bike in advance. Bikes will not be available for rental at the class. If you don’t have a bicycle, we will send information on how to rent one for the class. If the cost of a bike rental (about $25) is a challenge for you, please email qmaxwell@sfbike.org or call at‪ (415) 323-0597, as we have some limited funding available for rentals.

Please contact Qamuuqin Maxwell (qmaxwell@sfbike.org or ‪415-323-0597) with any questions about this program.

This class is part of the SFMTA’s Bicycle Safety Education program, presented in partnership with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. It is made possible by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority through a grant of Proposition K Local Transportation Sales Tax Funds.
