Eroica California is an annual event held in Paso Robles, California honoring the history of cycling. L’Eroica began in 1997 in Gaiole in Chianti, Italy and ventured to California three years ago. This is an incredible event that encompasses amazing people from all over the world, vintage bikes on gravel and dirt roads, and food and wine… truly making you feel like you are back in the times of early cycling. There are four routes to chose from that take you into the beautiful vineyards of Paso Robles, resembling the scenery of Tuscany. Remember this is an event, not a race, so people of all biking skill levels are welcome and encouraged to ride! It is a fun weekend with vintage vendors selling items on Saturday, as well as a display of vintage bikes, music, and food! The ride stops along the way at wineries where participants are treated to wine tastings, as well as other fun stops. There is a good network of ways to find a bike made in 1997 or older, so don’t let that be a deterrent.
