Freedom from Training Wheels

Sunday, May 21, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

This class is at Sunday Streets in Bayview! Find as at Galvez Ave and Mendell St.

Freedom from Training Wheels is a great way to get kids riding without training wheels! This class is best for children ages 2-5, but older children are welcome. We will have pedal bikes, balance bikes, and helmets available for your little one to use for free (and we will be sanitizing them between students). If you have your own, feel free to bring it! If you want to start practicing at home, check out our How to Teach your Child to Ride a Bike Guide (English, Español, 中文) with step-by-step instructions.

Preregistration is not required, just stop by!

A parent/caregiver must stay with their child for the duration of the class.

COVID-19 protocols: We will be following the protocols laid out by SFDPH here during this class. Masks, gloves, wipes, and hand sanitizer will be available at the class. Masks are not required at this event, but everyone, regardless of vaccination status, is encouraged to wear a mask. Before coming, please complete a health self-check to assess symptoms and exposure. Details here: adults here, children here. Please contact Cecilia (cecilia@sfbike.org/‪415-236-3869) with any questions about this program.

This class is part of the SFMTA’s Bicycle Safety Education program, presented in partnership with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. It is made possible by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority through a grant of Proposition K Local Transportation Sales Tax Funds.
