Freedom from Training Wheels

Saturday, April 3, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free

Freedom from Training Wheels is a great way to get kids riding without training wheels! This class is for children ages 2-5. We will have pedal bikes, balance bikes, and helmets available for your little one to use for free (and we will be sanitizing them between students). If you have your own, feel free to bring it! If you want to start practicing at home, check out our How to Teach your Child to Ride a Bike Guide (English, Español, 中文) with step-by-step instructions.

Preregistration is not required, just stop by! We will be limiting the class to 5 households at once, and each household will be in their own separate area for their entire time in the class.

A parent/caregiver must stay with their child for the duration of the class.

COVID-19 protocols: We will be following the protocols laid out by SFDPH here during this class, including face coverings, social distancing, sanitizing of bikes and helmets between uses, and reduced class sizes. Masks, gloves, wipes, and hand sanitizer will be available at the class. You can view our Social Distancing Protocol and Health and Safety Plan.

Please contact Eliana Marcus-Tyler (eliana@sfbike.org/‪415-409-9416‬) with any questions about this program.

This class is part of the SFMTA’s Bicycle Safety Education program, presented in partnership with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. It is made possible by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority through a grant of Proposition K Local Transportation Sales Tax Funds.

This program is also supported in part by The San Francisco Safe Routes to School Program. Please visit sfsaferoutes.org for more details.
