How To Ride A Scooter at Bloom Shaboom

Come check out this free drop-in class at Bloom Shaboom, a free annual block party celebrating art, nature, and community put on by Family Connection Centers in Portola. Since 1993, Family Connection Centers have provided community-driven, multilingual education and support programs to ensure children and families can thrive. This drop-in course gives participants an overview of the basic skills needed for riding a scooter safely and confidently. Whether you’re new to riding electric scooters or just need to practice – this class will help you get started scootin’ around safely!
Skills include:
- Balancing
- Starting
- Stopping
- Steering a scooter
- . . . and other essential skills!
A personal scooter is not required to attend this workshop — scooters will be available to use at the class.
This class is part of the SFMTA’s Scooter Safety Education program, presented in partnership with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. It is made possible by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority through a grant of Proposition L Local Transportation Sales Tax Funds. Scooters for this class are made possible through a partnership with SPIN Scooters.
