Practice Ride for Adult Beginning Bicyclists
Saturday, July 21, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
New to biking? Need help getting ready for Traffic Skills 101 class? Come practice with Juli, alumna of the SF Bicycle Coalition Adult Learn to Ride class, as well as other experienced riders. We’ll do an easy ride starting in the car-free spaces of NOW Hunters Point and Heron’s Head Park, before progressing to riding on streets.
This isn’t a class, but rather a fun practice ride for people getting comfortable riding. The ride avoids hills, and experienced cyclists will be around to accompany us. Put your bike on the bus to get there! Or, if you don’t have your own or have concerns about getting it there, we are working with Ford GoBike to provide bicycles at no charge! Email juli@sfbike.org with questions about the ride.
Schedule:
• 10-10:45AM: Optional skills practice and refresher at NOW Hunters Point
• 10:45AM: Meet group for ride at NOW Hunters Point
• 1PM: Approximate ending time (with treats!)
If you aren’t ready to bike to the starting location by yourself, you can always place your bike on the bus – we’ve got a video to show you how! Or use one of the Ford GoBikes we’ll have on hand.
Please note that the ride will be canceled in the case of rain.
