Market Street 2020

We Won Market Street 2020

Last year, the Better Market Street project was approved after over a decade of advocacy, bringing revolutionary changes to our city’s main corridor. Near-term implementation began in January 2020, including vehicle restrictions to create a car-free Market Street between Main and 10th streets.

Have you noticed the changes? Take our survey today to provide feedback as we continue to push for more improvements and for the long-term changes to break ground this year.

Here’s What’s Changing:

Car-free Market Street

Private cars banned on Market Street (between Main and Tenth streets.)

Turn Restrictions

Turn restrictions will be enforced preventing people from driving onto Valencia and Page streets from Market Street.

No Cars on Battery Street Bridge

A car-free space on Battery Street Bridge, between Bush and Market streets.

Bike Lanes > Car Lanes

Cars won’t be able to turn onto Market Street from Larkin Street. Instead, dedicated bike lanes will be in place.
