It was another record-breaking year for the California Climate Ride. This year, participants and supporters raised over $500,000 for non-profits focused on climate change, active transportation and bike advocacy. Thank you to all those who rode for the SF Bicycle Coalition! You have provided a tremendous boost of support to our daily advocacy work.
All participants make an extraordinary contribution to a cause they care about. They help provide much-needed financial support, awareness, and build a national network of supporters. For all their hard-work, riders are rewarded with an experience of a lifetime. Climate Ride provides a fully-supported bike tour through some of America’s most beautiful landscapes. Participants meet and network with leaders in sustainability, renewable energy, and environmental causes while raising awareness of our cause. The California Wine Country ride begins in San Francisco where riders cross the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County. From there, riders travel through Nicasio Valley before turning east toward Petaluma.
Riders pedal north from here through pastures and rolling hills into Sonoma County for a picnic lunch right on the Russian River near Healdsburg. Continuing on, the scenic Alexander Valley wine growing region awaits before pedaling up the final hill to the top of Napa Valley. The final day is an exciting ride across California’s Central Valley, with a stop into bike-friendly Davis and the US Bicycling Hall of Fame, to the Golden State’s Capitol in Sacramento.
