Support Melgar’s Street Safety Act at City Hall

On Monday, September 8, Supervisor Melgar’s Street Safety Act will be heard at the Land Use and Transportation committee –– the only opportunity for members of the public to weigh in on the resolution.

Join us, Walk SF, Streets for All, and Supervisor Melgar at 12:30pm that day for a rally on the City Hall steps. Then come with us to the Land Use and Transportation hearing at 1:30pm to give public comment in support of the Street Safety Act.

Introduced on July 28, Melgar’s Street Safety Act recommits San Francisco to Vision Zero and builds on the successes of the past decade by improving interagency collaboration between the departments who govern our streets.

Speeding still remains to be the leading cause of traffic fatalities and severe injuries on our streets. We must double down on implementing the successes of the last 10 years, like quick-builds and traffic calming, so that we are working towards a San Francisco in which no one loses their life to unsafe streets.
