Bicycle Equity Network Convening #5

Thursday, May 24, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Passionate about seeing bicycling in San Francisco become more equitable and inclusive? Want to find out how many communities are tearing down the barriers to safe biking that some in our city face? Come to a meeting of the Bicycle Equity Network, an open space for organizations that work on these goals, as well as interested individuals from the wide SF community, to get input from one another about our different bike equity projects. At this convening we’ll be discussing the following topic, in addition to our normal agenda:

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has recently been in conversations with the Financial Justice Project of the Treasurer’s Office of the Mayor, the SFMTA, and SFPD about implementing a Bicycle Ticket Diversion Program in San Francisco. The program would allow cyclists who receive a traffic citation from the SFPD to have the ticket dismissed by taking a bike safety class. We would like to update everyone on the status of those conversations and hear any feedback you might have about the launch of a Bicycle Ticket Diversion Program in SF. Christopher White, who leads our education work at SF Bicycle Coalition, will be sharing out the update.
