Your San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is hosting a forum with staff from the SF County Transportation Authority (the TA) to discuss the current process to reauthorize the City’s half-cent sales tax, which funds transportation projects and programs, and to set a spending plan. The current sales tax, authorized by voters in 2003 as Prop K, needs to be overhauled to reflect massive changes since then, from technological advancements to demographic changes and COVID recovery needs.
TA staff will present on the current draft 30-year spending plan proposal, called the Expenditure Plan, which will eventually be put on the ballot in November 2022. This plan is still in process, informed by input from diverse communities across the city. After a brief presentation, you’ll have time to share your questions and feedback. This is a vital opportunity for members of bicycling communities in San Francisco to have their voices heard, so that their needs can be reflected in the plan.
