Family Bike Fair at Playland @ 43rd Avenue
Sunday, November 24 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us at Playland at 43rd Avenue for some bike fun for the whole family!
- 1:00-4:00 pm: Freedom from Training Wheels
- 1:00-4:00 pm: Free bike tuneups with Bay Area BikeMobile
- 2:00-2:45 pm: How to Host a Bike Train
Join our Freedom from Training Wheels class and get your kids riding without training wheels. Bring your child’s bike and helmet if you have them. If not, no worries, we have bikes for children aged 2-5. Our instructors will work with your young people to get them striding, rolling, and pedaling in no time. If you want to start practicing at home, check out our Parent Tip Sheet with step-by-step instructions.
We’ll also be presenting a short workshop on How to Host a Bike Train, aimed at parents, guardians, teachers, and other members of school communities who want to offer the children in their lives a fun, active, sustainable way to get to and from school. Bike Trains are locally organized group rides to and/or from school that introduce young people to the joy of biking for transportation, while keeping them safely under adult supervision and in highly visible groups. They create healthy bodies and minds ready to learn, while fostering a strong sense of community. Presented in collaboration with the SF Safe Routes to School Partnership. Please register for this portion of the event ONLY below. All other activities are available on a drop-in basis.
And Bay Area BikeMobile will be on hand 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm to do quick free tuneups! Does your bike need a little TLC? Bay Area BikeMobile’s mechanics can give it the love it deserves.
