Intro to Biking in SF with Bay Wheels
Saturday, June 18, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Event Navigation
In partnership with Bay Wheels, we’re offering a course covering bicycling for everyday riding in SF and how to use the Bay Wheels system. The first half of the class will be in the classroom, and in the second half we’ll hit the streets, checking out Bay Wheels and going for a short group ride on Bay Wheels bikes. This is a great class for people who already know how to bike but are considering bicycling more in the city, joining Bay Wheels, or looking to brush up on skills. Plus, we’ll do a prize drawing for 6 annual Bay Wheels memberships to class attendees.
Topics Covered:
- Helmet fit
- Preparing to Ride
- Rules of the Road
- Safety Skills & Tips
- Route Planning
- How to use Bay Wheels
- Bike Share for All (for low-income participants)
No bicycle is necessary for this class. Participants must bring their own helmet. If you need to borrow a helmet for the class, please let us know.
COVID protocols: While not required, we encourage you to wear a well-fitted mask for the duration of the class. We also encourage students and instructors to complete a self-health screening before arriving to the class (details will be sent in the confirmation email).
Please contact Chester Hartsough (chester@sfbike.org or 415-323-0564) with any questions about this program.
