SCOOTER SAFETY SKILLS — CANCELLED

UPDATE: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3 — THIS SCOOTER CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED AT A LATER DATE.
The on-scooter course will teach participants the basics of scooter riding needed to safely and confidently ride in city traffic. The class will be conducted in a car-free space, and topics covered include:
- Balancing
- Starting and stopping
- Steering a scooter
- As well as proper safety accessories, safe prevailing speeds, and other essential skills
This class will prepare you for Scooter Road Practice, in which you will take your new skills onto the streets.
Participants are encouraged to either bring a scooter of their own or locate and bring a scooter-share scooter to this class. If you need help procuring a scooter for class, or have any general questions, please contact Qamuuqin Maxwell (qmaxwell@sfbike.org or 415-323-0597)
These classes are part of the SFMTA’s Scooter Safety Education program, presented in partnership with the nonprofit San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. It is made possible in part by Proposition L Sales Tax dollars provided by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority.
