ABOUT SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL

Studies show walking and biking not only improve your children’s health, but also their concentration. Walk and Roll To School Day is the kickoff event for SF Safe Routes to School programs at 25 elementary schools District-wide. There’s no better time to start a positive habit for you and your school. Learn about a Walking School Bus, one of the Four Fun Ways to Get to School, and be inspired to start a monthly or weekly event at your school. SRTS Partners help parents and caregivers develop programs at host schools. Walk and Roll To School Day, Bike and Roll To School Week, and many other resources are available to all schools. Nancy Buffum, Family and Schools Program Manager at the SF Bicycle Coalition, will help you set up a practice bike train at your own school. Contact nancy@sfbike.org or 415-431-2453 x314.
