San Francisco’s 2016 Bike & Roll to School Week is April 18-22. Sign up your school before April 1!
Bike & Roll to School Week is the annual celebration of the joys and benefits of biking and other healthy ways to get to school. Rolling with scooters, skateboards, strollers and wheelchairs all count, and every San Francisco school, from pre-K through high school, is welcome to join the fun. Last year 91 schools and over 6,000 children and adults took part in Bike & Roll to School Week. This year, San Francisco’s families are poised to break that record.
Is your school new to Bike & Roll to School Week? This is a great chance for everyone to try biking to school. Students, teachers, parents and even babies on board are invited to participate. Student rollers will receive goody bags with free giveaways, sponsored by the SF Safe Routes to School partnership, of which your SF Bicycle Coalition is a proud member. The event organizers and hosting schools can win prizes, too, and there’s also a parent participant raffle. To help you and the young rollers in your family prepare, the SF Bicycle Coalition offers Family Biking workshops and trainings leading up to the big week. Reminisce over last year’s event here.
Want to sign up now? You can choose the best day of Bike & Roll to School Week for your school’s special event. Parent or staff members are invited to sign up your schools.
