Do You Commute by Bike? Sign Up for Team Bike Challenge

Bike to Work Day is San Francisco’s biggest celebration of bicycle commuting, and it falls on May 14 this year. But pedaling to work is so much fun, why stop at one day? Sign up for the Team Bike Challenge, a friendly competition for people who bike regularly that happens all May long.

The Team Bike Challenge is a great way to reduce CO2, burn calories and have a ton of fun while riding your bike. Nine Bay Area counties participate, and last year 1,370 teams and 443 companies participated by logging more than 570,000 miles!

Now that May is right around the corner again, it’s time to tune up your bike, grab your friends and family and suit up for the 2015 Team Bike Challenge. You can sign up as a team of up to five or as an entire company – there are three separate categories for different office sizes. The competition kicks off on May 1!

Here’s How it Works:

  • Sign up in teams of up to five or as a company
  • Bike to work all May long
  • Log your May miles – commuting and otherwise – at TeamBikeChallenge.com
  • The team with the most points at the end of the month wins prizes!

Last year, Golden Gate National Parks won the company division by having 90 staff ride a combined 12,661 miles! For individual teams, Team Partycar.com took home the trophy in both 2013 and 2014, last year logging 7,489.9 miles. Does your team have what it takes to unseat them?
